Another One Bites The Dust

Today is the 10th May 2009, and you are reading Swine Flu Daily. We have news on a school closure but 1st I think it is appropriate for you to see to see the latest numbers. Do not read if you have a heart condition. You have been warned.

Ouch! Now there are 4847 confirmed cases:
- 2699 in the United States
- 1626 in Mexico
- 280 in Canada
- 95 in Spain
- 55 in the UK
- 15 in Panama
- 13 in France
- 11 in Germany
- 9 in Italy
- 7 in Israel and New Zealand
- 6 in Brazil
- 4 in Japan
- 3 in the Guatemala, the Netherlands and South Korea
- 2 in El Salvador, Norway and Sweden
- 1 in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland
- This means that there are confirmed cases in 30 countries, spanning 5 continents.
- There are suspected cases or confirmed cases in 44 countries.
- All the numbers are from Wikipedia, correct at 22:00 GMT+1, BST.

Another One Bites The Dust: A school in Britain has closed today after a pupil there was suspected of having swine flu. This may be an over-reaction but could this just be the 1st of many around the country. The full story can be read from the Guardian.

Updates are shorter as I am doing exams at the moment. I'll see if I can get some numbers up for you tomorrow.
